We will be back online soon!
For over 20 years the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF) has been pointing communities forward through educational empowerment. Our vehicles include HIV/AIDS education, testing and awareness, minority college access and digital literacy through our Community Empowerment Centers. MJF was born out of Earvin "Magic" Johnson's HIV announcement. Shortly after the news, Mr. Johnson received an overwhelming response in the form of donations and letters of support...thus, we were birthed by the community. Humbled by that response we remain a public charity.
It is through our experiences with you that we have learned a tremendous amount about collective action and social change. We have recommitted ourselves to not just being for the community but of the community.
The conclusion of MJF's 20th year anniversary campaign in 2012 created the space for an opportunity shift. One that moved from looking back in celebration to pointing forward and leading the way. As a result, MJF has an enhanced focus on deepened community engagement and leadership.
We are excited to share our plans and our new approach with you in the coming weeks. It starts with a new look. If you need to reach us before we launch our new website, give us a call at (310) 246-4400. Otherwise, send us a Tweet, like us on Facebook, and follow us on Instagram and Pinterest!
